Chainsaw Maintenance and Safety Awareness
Who should attend
Candidates who are familiar with the cutting aspect of Chainsaws, who wish to improve their equipment knowledge and
working safety practices. Candidates who would like to undertake their own chainsaw maintenance.
What will be Covered
- Chainsaw accidents prevention.
- Safe operation practices of chainsaws.
- Practical session on chainsaw maintenance and operations.
- Saw cleaning practices.
- Safety features check.
- Replacing chains.
- Maintenance of chain bar.
- Fuelling saw, mixing fuels, selection of oils.
- Chain sharpening method.
- Tightening and setting the chain.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Use of the saw and various types of cuts
- Care of the saw in transport
Operator equipment requirements:
To maximise the course benfitsParticipants are encouraged where possible to bring their own Chainsaw to the course.
Some of the basic saw spanners etc. will be required.
This is primarily a practical course so have suitable clothing i.e. overalls etc
Duration & Attendance
This is a 1 Day course with a maximum of 10 participants.

This course can be held at your own premises or at our training facility in Ballyconnell. Each course is subject to
course booking terms and conditions. Please contact our office for further details. This course is designed to
create safety awareness on the use of chainsaws, it does not attempt to train participants to fell trees.
Certification
Delegates who successfully complete this course of instruction will be awarded a TMTS Certificate of Training
Achievement in the Category: ChainsawMaintenace and Safety Awareness.
